care and maintenance

elements™ is highly resistant to most chemicals, heat, flame and moisture. Because it is non-porous, it does not require sealing and will not absorb moisture or harbor bacteria. The physical properties of this super-tough epoxy resin surface are seldom compromised; however, periodic care and maintenance will help keep it looking new.

Routine Care

Simply clean your elements countertop with soap and water on a regular basis to keep the surface clean. Cleaners such as Windex® or Formula 409® may also be used to clean your countertop. Wipe the surface completely dry to avoid water spots or dulling the finish. Spills should be wiped up immediately.

Most metals are softer than your elements countertop and can leave a mar if pulled across the top. But not to worry; marring is actually matter left on the surface that appears as a line and remains smooth to the touch. It can almost always be removed with mild cleaning products, plus a little elbow grease.

When cleaning a mar on the surface, always try the softest cloth and the weakest solution first. If marring persists, use Barkeepers Friend Liquid® cleanser and a paper towel. Never use dry abrasive cleansers or scouring pads and always apply the minimum amount of pressure required on the surface to remove the mar.

Your elements™ countertop comes with an industrial style finish that can be maintained with routine care as noted above. If you prefer a richer appearance, apply a light amount of mineral oil or lemon oil to the surface as needed. The application of mineral oil is not required maintenance, and your elements countertop will remain sanitary without it.

Preventive Maintenance

Although elements is extremely durable, harder metals, abrasives, heavy objects or sharp items may affect the surface. Protective pads should be used under heavy items or items with metal legs that can scratch the surface

elements is extremely heat resistant, and can withstand exposure to normal cooking temperatures from pots, pans and dishes without being damaged. However, all surfacing materials can be damaged by extreme temperature changes, whether prolonged or sudden. Trivets and hot pads are recommended when placing hot skillets, pans or other heat generating kitchenware on the surface.

elements is extremely chemical and stain resistant. If a stain does occur, always try the softest cloth and the weakest solution (soap and water) first. If staining persists, progress to Barkeepers Friend Liquid® cleanser. Never use a dry abrasive pad and always apply the minimum amount of pressure required on the surface to remove the stain.

Performance

With proper care, your elements can look sleek and lustrous for the lifetime of your kitchen, bathroom or work environment.
